On November 7th the CBAF held its annual Toys for Troops’ Kids tournament on the Delta. About 500 toys were donated by the teams participating in the event as well other generous folks who were not fishing the tournament. It was an awesome day despite a very tough bite. We are excited about our 2009/2010 tournament season. We kick off our fall season with the Toys for Troops kids event on November 7 on the Delta. Russo’s Marina will again host the event. As most of you know, we encourage each tournament angler to bring one or more unwrapped toys. Following the tournament the toys are taken to local military bases where they will be distributed at Christmas to families where the mom or dad may be deployed overseas in one of our military services. This is one way the bass fishing community shows their appreciation for our service men and woman who lay it on the line every day in defense of our country and the freedoms we enjoy. Their kids deserve a great Christmas! You can register and pay on line at this site by clicking “Register” and following the instructions. We will again honor our veterans, service men and woman and provide a great BBQ. Please mark this date and make it a point to attend.
