CBAF Collects Over 450 Toys for Troop’s Kids

We really didn’t know what to expect but all indications were that there was a lot of interest in the CBAF Toys for the Troops’ Kids Delta Tournament. We were not disappointed. As the teams started to arrive the stack of toys, all kinds of toys, started to grow. When they were counted, over 450 toys had been donated by bass fisherman. “We had been getting calls from a lot of people expressing an interest in helping out.”, said Paul Baker, CBAF President. The actual number of fisherman wasn’t quite what we had anticipated but those who came really showed their patriotism and support for our troops. Jay Yelas, 2007 Angler Of The Year, came and donated his time as MC of the weigh in and guest speaker. Jay is a great friend of the CBAF and we appreciate him so much.It was an incredible day, almost as though the actual fishing didn’t matter that much. It didn’t, it was about the kids and their families and helping to bring a little joy to them despite the fact that their mom or dad might not be there this Christmas. It was about heroes, past and present, who have fought and, in some cases, died to protect our freedom. It was about Bass Fishermen who came and stood and applauded the veterans as they took the stage as the video “Heroes” was playing. So a big CBAF “THANK YOU” goes out to all of you who came, who gave, who helped.Russo’s Marina, Dave Irwin (Air Force Boat) Angler Boys.com, Ranger Boats, Centennial Batteries – Mark Fong, Lefty’s Lures, Pepper Jigs, Diablo Bass Hawg Hunters, Ish Monroe, Norval Chan – Esox Rods, Mark Lassagne, SR Trucking Moving and Storage- Roberto, George Yonekura (Trailer safety devise), Dobyns Rods, Kevkel Baits– Gary Gill/George Yonekura, Western Bass.Com.
